TotalEdit is right for you if you’re looking for a tool to replace the Notepad application offered by Windows, if you want a text editor that provides support for multiple programming languages and several other useful features. TotalEdit is free, it is easy to use, it is packed with features that will help you get things done efficiently and rapidly.

The system requirements for running TotalEdit are: 500Mhz Pentium class processor, 256MB of RAM memory, 13MB of free disk space, Windows operating system. Low system requirements then, requirements that any PC can easily meet.

TotalEdit is available as a Lite and as a Pro version. There used to be a time when the Lite version was free and the Pro version was not. The paid Pro version offers support for FTP and SSH (SFTP), can analyze and query databases, and provides enhanced search capabilities.
Both versions are free now. To unlock the Pro version you must enter the following key:
2D5B073C-93D0-6D40-8970-B041-C2C.

TotalEdit has a tabbed interface. Open multiple documents and tabs for each of them will be presented on the interface.
TotalEdit has a customizable interface. You can pick and choose what elements are displayed on the interface.
TotalEdit has a user friendly interface. You will quickly figure things out and you won’t have any problems using the interface to access all the features and functions.

And since we’re talking about features and functions, here are TotalEdit’s main ones: lots of file formats are supported, meaning you can open a variety of files; lots of programming languages are supported; powerful find function; macros are supported; spell checker tool is included; there’s a function to preview your work in the browser; you can compare two files; and more.

Seeing that TotalEdit is free, you have all the time in the world to uncover all its features and functions.

Programmers, editors, and other people who work with text and need a feature rich editor are going to love TotalEdit.

Pros

Installing TotalEdit on a Windows-powered machine is an effortless task. There are two TotalEdit editions and both are free. The application's tabbed and customizable interface is user friendly. TotalEdit is a properly good text editior that has a lot to offer.

Cons

None that I could think of.
